Removing the V6 Engine

Finaly I got some good weather so that I could go out and work on the Omega. I chained the engine and began to lift, but I was finding that the engine was comming up with the car. So I had another look around the engine and could not find a reason why. So after constant trying I got fed up so I put the car on the ramp and got under it. I found that the gear shift linkage was bolted to the floor. So I undid the bolts and got her back on level ground and began to crank her up. With a bit of hickory pokery she came out no problems. When she came out I could not believe how big she was, kind of put it all in prospective what a mission this is going to be. "EVER GET THAT FEELING THAT YOU HAVE BITTEN OFF MORE THAN YOU CAN CHEW"

So I decided to put her in the viva to check for size but when I dropped it in it left a space of 20cm from the front of the engine to the back of the grille. Unfortunatly I did not take a picture. A friend of mine helped me lift the car over the engine to get it into the engine bay after we set it on a pallet at a decent height. So to help me out in future I have decided to make a wooden mold of the engine so that I wont damage the engine getting it in and out.
