Removing the Roof LeatherThis is one of the last things I have to do before I can start to think about putting parts back in. Looking at my roof i can see that under the leather it is bubbling with rust so I have decided to take off the leather and have a look. I took off the leather by pulling at it with plyers an added bonus was it was a hot day so the under glue was soft. Got it off in about ten minutes but unfortunately not in one piece.
After getting a good look at it I realized that it was not that bad. So i set out with my wire brush and mallet to get rid of the rust spots. To be honest I was Surprised. The roof took me a good hour of elbow grease but now i know its good. Once all the rust was sanded out i put some rust paint over it to protect it until paint.
