Removing The V6 Engine Accesories

As the sun goes down on another I best write what I have done. Today I started where I left off yesterday. So I set out removing the Air Conditioning system first I removed the radiator for the air con. I went to discharge the air con but found that it was empty of the inside / outside pressure must of been equal. Either way it was a bonus. The air con was an easy job just a few bolts around the top of the rad and it just slides up and out. All the pipes were crimped on and since I am not going to have air con in the viva I just cut the pipes.
Behind the air con radiator was the fans for the cooling system, they seem to be really good fans so I think I will use them in the viva. Will have to see how much room there will be. Although from the pictures it did not seem like much work has been done it has taken me all day just to get the pipes air con and other bits out.
I have hit a wall on the engine bay side because I need to go out tomorrow and buy a star socket set to remove the throttle bodies and other bits around the engine.
With the work in the engine bay on stand still I got the car up on the lift and removed the exhaust pipes from the manifold back to the silencers. Dont try this unless you have an extension arm of at least 10" or its a mission(I sent me wife out to buy one). These down pipes look ideal to use in the viva so I will keep them. With the exhaust moved I decided to take off the heat shield cowling's around them so that I could get to the prop shaft.
Next I decided to remove the shaft from the car. This is an easy job to do all you need is two spanners and undo three bolts at each end and two in the middle. Best way to do it is undo the centre bracket and then undo the rear after the bush but leave the bolts in. Then undo the front before the bush. This helps to get the shaft out without moving the gearbox. Leaving the bolts in will stop it from falling on you head, just a tip. So the overall effect of the day looks like this.
